Kelsey was very nervous about doing her first professional photoshoot. We talked for an hour before taking any shots so I could get her to relax and feel comfortable with shooting. As soon as she got in front of the camera her nerves left and we got some nice shot. Only problem I encountered in a lot of the shots was her constant habit of biting her lips. Any thoughts on how to fix bad lips in Photoshop?

The shots you posted all worked well and the lips look just fine. Post one of the ones with the "biting lips" and perhaps I can share my famous "biting lips fix" PS miracle solution.

But seriously, also, I've seen models with problems with how they pose their mouth and I usually try to address it during shooting. I use the old "vowels" idea of having the model say a vowel and draw it out as she says it. I watch the expression that each causes and then pick the vowels that work best and have her say those during the shots. This also usually causes the model to laugh and I get some good ideas about how to get good laughs and smiles from her.

Cheers,
rfs

Can't help with the lips issue, but, boy, she did deliver. I really like that second one in particular.
Thanks for sharing.

GENIUS! I had not heard of this vowel trick, but I love it. I've had this problem and have got to try this fix. Mr. Smith, you get a gold star today!!

The nice thing about Texas models is that you don't need to remind them to draaaaawwww out those vowels.

There IS a fix for the lip problem...but the antedote lies within my studio...send her there and lets see if we can't get that corrected...

Thanks for all the advice.

Hey RFS ... good advice. I never knew you had a Pygmalion side. Next time I'll have her repeat -- "The rain in Spain falls mainly on the planes."

Thanks RVMD - after we shot the first outfit, she asked for "something" to calm her down. I offerred wine, but she preferred to sipped some tequila while reviewing her first set of pictures. Heck - one good shot deserves another!

Yo Bobby G.. I'd love to see what you can do with her in your studio. Her name is Kelsey and she's listed on MM #256720

Hope you all have some great "end of the year" shoots!

Here's one more of Kelsey for y'all

As usual, I get my kicks on Route 66, AND looking at your work, Marty.

Just one comment about the first shot. That hand is bright and somewhat strange looking...... and dang why do I keep looking at it when there are so many other nice things to look at. Just bothers me, but I wish I could come close to that fantastic look...lighting and mood.... in my work ...
