Just something a little different. This was taken on Bull Island ( an island off Cape Romain,SC). Would be a great place to do a model shoot. This one was standing alone so I took full advantage of the oppurtunity to take a few shots. What do you think?

I like it. It would be MUCH better a few minutes after high-tide, so you don't have all of those distracting footprints.

It's interesting, and has a certain dynamic quality imparted by the branches, and there's a bit of interest in the receding lines of the ocean, beach, waves, and sand. The tree's shadow is OK. But overall the posted image doesn't grab me, excite me, or hold my attention for more than a few seconds.

I think it'd be an excellent exercise to try some other angles, perspectives, and treatments. I can't help but feel there's some potentially great shots there - that wood just screams it - and the exercise of trying would be instructional.

Fortunately, you can be pretty sure the model will be there on time, awaiting you.

Thanks for sharing.

Here is my first post ever - after lurking and reading and hopefully learning over the last year or more.
In keeping with the theme of New Models that are easy to work with - didnt complain about the weather or anything . . .here goes. These were taken when I rode my bike through Ft. Clinch State Park.

and Amelia Island Lighthouse through the trees

I hope they arent too big.

is that a tree that actually once grew that close to the shoreline? is it a piece of driftwood that became lodged in the sand upright? or, did you stick it in the sand? personally, i think a model working with it would be awesome! the tree standing alone, however, in the way you captured it, well, i gotta go with what the professor said.

Thanks for the input JimmyD. The beach is loaded with trees just like this. It is beautiful there. Only drawback is it is only accessible by water then you have to walk about 2.5 miles to get there unless you have a seaworthy vessel then you can get closer but still would have to swim to shore. I have several more pictures like this posted at photo.net Thanks again.
