I used to shoot a lot of TFP/TFCD shoots and found that I had a high percentage of models cancel their shoots due to health related issues (sickness, hangovers, over-sleeping, broken fingernail, etc). When I stopped shooting TFCD and started requiring that models pay a deposit, I found that more models showed up for their shoots. Recently, I agreed to do TFCD shoots with two models and ... you guessed it, they both emailed me to postpone their shoots due to "health related issues."

While this isn't a scientific study, I believe that models should stop requesting TFCD/TFP shoots until more studies can be completed!

Here is my take on this issue… Someone needs to be getting paid for any work that is being done!!!
Whether it is the new photographer trying to build a portfolio and paying models or the new model that is trying to do like wise and paying photographers for their work.
TFP/CD work is killing this industry. As much as I like to shoot pretty young ladies, I can not work for free. My family will not eat those pretty pictures for breakfast no matter how much sugar I pour on them.
Just about every girl with a phone camera is now a model and wants to be paid to model or have pictures taken for free. This drives me nuts. She wants to get paid but does not know what a pose with an “S” curve is much less make one. New models should have to pay a photographer to take photos of her. She should have to invest in herself. I have somewhere near $100K invested in myself and my business why should some girl get in to business for free just because she can smile.
Anyways just my two cents worth of ranting…

It somehow also has an effect on their vehicles. I've had two breakdown just at the mention of the acronym TFP.

Thanks for this important medical update. You just don't hear about this stuff on the news - they're too busy trying to scare everyone with predictions of a bird flu pandemic. From now on I'm going to start charging a deposit and if I get any questions about it I can honestly say "I'm just doing this for your own health and well being, you really should thank me." And the other side of that coin, of course, is that when someone pays me money I feel better too. Hmmm, a win-win situation!!!

Who needs science to figure that one out?

This is not rocket science!

...and let 's not forget the number of family members that mysteriously and suddenly drop dead...and then there are times where you unexpectedly meet the model and find her with her 'undead' relative.

If any of you guys have relatives that are models, please be very careful. I'd hate to hear of your sudden passing on, only to see you still posting on G1.

you don't have to be head cashier at wal-mart to see the correlation between TFP and Model Sickness. Thanks for the HealthALERT!

Yeah. Heck, I've even offered to pay a couple of models recently and they're turning my money down! Looks like if I'm going to freshen up my portfolio at all I'm gonna have to join JT in GA.
