Learning new skills and trying to apply them is a challenge.
I know what I was going for, but would like to hear comments on these, good or bad.

I like the shots themselves, the only thing that I have a problem with is the lipstick in the first one. it overpowers the rest of the image. great shot otherwise.

I think the thing you should look at first is your workflow. The images that I've seen from you generally seem soft, and lack contrast. I don't know if that's a shooting problem, or a processing problem....but fixing those two issues would greatly improve the final images, regardless of content.

As for these two specifically, the red lips stick out too much. I'm sure you were trying to emphasize them, but whoa... The second is a nice composition, but the lack of contrast just kills the image. Try playing with the "Levels" first, then resize and sharpen. I think that image has a lot of potential!

in all the images of AJ i've seen from this workshop she has that fire-engine nuclear flourescent neon red lipstick on. what's with that? it ain't often a model's lipgloss becomes distracting and it certainly bugs me when the model is as beautiful as this girl. in fact, i even commented on her lips in another post, thinking the shooter pumped up the red in post but now i'm thinking that ain't what happened. both images, btw, are flat. you need to mess with curves or levels and get you blacks black first and then set the rest of the luma levels.

Thanks for replying Brian.
After seeing my web on two different monitors today I have to agree with you. Althought I printed a copy with good results, I agree about the sharpening.
I'm also thinking I may be doing something when I save for web.
Normally Levels is the first thing I go to.

Thanks again

Thanks jimmy,
I agree about the lipstick, gloss, whatever. I think it was a MUA thing or something. As for the flat look, after seeing it on two different monitors today off my web I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong when I save for web.
I'll be working on that issue tomorrow, along with a few others.

Overall on my monitor they are whitewashed(to light) and causes the lipstick to stand out alot more than it probably did in person. 2nd shot is my favorite. On the first IMO I would have placed his hands more on her hips and lower ab area. Keep posting and keep up the great work.

Thanks for the comments.
I'm thinking I have a monitor calibration issue, which I'm in the works to solve. My monitor looks dark compared to others I guess.
