Older image that I dug up and worked on tonight. Do you ever feel that your images are never as cool as the images you see in magazines? That sucks doesn't it? lol

the image seems to go a little flat as my eyes move from the bottom to the top and by the time my eyes reach the top of her head, there's not much contrast in her hair. her left hand looks a little weird the way all her fingers close--almost perfectly perpendicular to the camera--at the middle joint. it almost gives it that amputated look. if just one or two of the fingers were open i think that would have helped that. also, her left arm, being in front like that, is exposed a bit hotter than the rest of her--especially the back of her left hand--which distracts my eyes from her VERY pretty face. she has some killer eyes, don't she? it may be that the B&W conversion heightens the loss of contrast and "hot" arm issues.

Good calls. The image was something form about a year ago and I wasn't really thinking about body parts being "separated" and so forth. Since then I have started to see things better during a shoot. Leg separation, arm angles etc.. Fingers are something I don't deal with too much but have started to. I'm trying to find my corner on how to appropriately coach the model into good poses. I don't shoot much so it takes me longer.

Yes, her eyes are very nice. I have many shoots of her and more to come. She helps me be a better photographer and I help her be a better model.'

btw, Love your posted shot.
