Here's another from my work with Kyrin yesterday. This is her "normal" hair color (as opposed to the black wig in the other). This is my first shoot with a home-built beauty dish (thanks Don).

My version of the garage beauty dish is a large metal salad bowl and a metal dog food bowl for the center piece. I like the effect. Thanks for putting me onto the earlier post.

Very cute. Very natural. But I have to ask, I have been looking for red and white stockings like that for EVER! are they yours? and if not can you ask her where she got them? I need them for a shoot I want to do

Here's my salad bowl. I used a dog food bowl for the center piece. There are nicks in the paint since I was anxious to get it working for a shoot. I have to wait 5 days to put the next coat on it to make it look more presentable.

I bought the bowls. I used hardware from my junk drawer to put it all together. The brackets I used were some curtain brackets at one time (I think).

Very cool! Are you planning on using this as a fill light? Any idea how many F stops you lose as opposed to direct light?

In this photo and the one at the head of this post, I actually used it as the main light and my large softbox as a fill. I think for a while I'll probably keep experimenting with it as a key.

Good question though about the drop in power. I honestly don't know. I'll have to get some time to try that out. Of course, I usually seem to have too much power available with my AB 800's (at least for my style). So, I don't know that it will be a problem for me.
