I had just put all my equipment away for the holiday season when I got an email from this girl who took the time to fill out my Model Application on my website. So, I decided to do one more TFCD shoot before the end of the year (a dangerous move since I had no idea what she looked like).

Anyways, the shoot was great, she showed up on time (and doesn't consider herself a model) but it was her hair reminded me of something -- Tis the Season of Red and Green. So, have a Happy Holiday and I hope Santa brings everyone some new photography equipment.

Nice shot. Love the colors. Everything works very well together (color, model, overall attitude).

Merry Christmas.

She looks pissed. Technically I like it (lighting, color choice, etc.) but I don't get the belt. This is a popular choice of "wardrobe" but I just don't understand what's flattering about wearing a belt on your boobs.

Attitude! I love the attitude. The belt seems out of focus to me though. Breathing? the way it is a shift makes me think thats what it is. That and its only in the glimmer. I love it though.

I tried adding a layer with a little "Motion Blur" effect to the belt to give the lettering a bit of a "star filter" effect. Guess I over did it a bit if it looks blured. Still working on that effect. May also have been a bit of breathing, as her belt was really too small for her ... belted area!

Here's another of Erin with a bit more clothes...

Man, she has powerful eyes! No I love the shot with the belt. hmmm... Try this for the star effect. select copy belt (just the trim part) enlarge just past the belt. opaque/motionblur/fade. This will leave the center alone allowing it to not look like a blur? I dont know if that will give you your effect, never tried it before. But sounds good

Thanks man ... I'll give it a try.

As for her eyes, I completely redid her makeup in Photoshop on all the shots you've seen. I'm finding that unless I work with a professional MUA, the results are much better when I do their makeup in post production. I've re-done makeup so much that I can generally do a picture in Photoshop in about 10 minutes ... sometimes while the model watches. It's a double edged sword ... once the models see what I can do in Photoshop, they become more relaxed about their look and I get better images. It also means that I'm doing a lot more Photoshop than if they did their makeup correct in the first place.

Another shot of Erin in Black & White. Not sure which version I like better ...

So, here is what I do. I go to look at some other shinies and start to think, hmmm. maybe the laptop I do all my not-picture-stuff on and see a glare on most things. So maybe its more my screen then your shot. Hehe, oh well. I'll try and take a look at it when my other comp frees up and take another look. Or stop being lazy and run my spider on this screen
