Still working with a couple speedlights and a very willing model, we tried something a little more suited to the flavour of GG. My first attempts at anything 'Glamour', so your feedback will be most appreciated.

Thanks to all!

You're off to a good start! I like where you're going with these.

Here are a couple suggestions, though. It appears that in #1 you have both lights very near each other. Try using one as the main light, and one as a hair light, then use some form of reflector for fill. Also, don't have her drop her head so far that you lose so much of the top of her iris.

The pose in #3 is better than #2, which is just too flat. Try keeping the lingerie matching, and the image will seem less cluttered. I really like the satin black bra, with the black pillow and the red (and very interesting, btw) background. What did you use for the background?

You're off to a great start, and I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Thanks for the suggestions! The lighting in number one was a bit of an accident. I moved a light out of the way and forgot to turn it off. Should have been chimping a little more on that one. And I'll have to try that one next time with just the black pillow case, not the whole pillow.

The model is laying on a sheet of 8ft x 4ft corrugated plastic (Coroplast). It looks a little like cardboard, but is plastic. Cheap ($20 CDN per sheet vs $140 for 3/16th Plexi) and reasonably durable if handled with some care. The texture is interesting, and it is availalbe in everything from translucent to black and most primary colors in between.

I have some other shots that I may be posting later from last night, but I couldn't wait to go through all of them to get a posting on here. We had a lot of fun, and are all looking forward to some more in the near future.

Thanks again!

In the first one, I think i can see 4 catch lights in the left eye. Well, I think BG mentioned that and you replied, but maybe something is reflecting more light back into the shot as well? That one has the start of a good expression. to me, the arm in the last one is too masculine and the torso seems really long. You could have the model, pull up on her underwear with her right hand. That might shorten the torso and change her arm.

Having never worked with speed lights or flash heads as of yet I really don't have much to offer. Although in the second and third photo there is a strange gray gausyness. Is that from the original photo or the compression in this site? If it is from the shoot how do you keep the eyes reflecting without going gausy?

Good work still. Keep it up!
