I never know what to say when someone asks for feedback, but also ask for the person giving the feedback to "be kind". Even with the smiley, I always wonder what is wanted. So I'll just ask a few questions about the photo posted?

1. What is it supposed to represent. The model with eyes closed I suppose is to suggest that she's a asleep, but the pose itself with the legs up on the wall would suggest that is not possible. So it is a contradiction. Is that what the viewer was supposed to conclude?
2. Why the strange glow in the background? Is this supposed to represent something or is it just a light in the background that got set to high? Now had their been a fire place in the background, then that glow might have made sense?
3. Is the posted photo, the best of the session? Would it make sense to post the best shot of a session as the representative sample?

When choosing a photo to show, these are the kinds of questions I usually ask.

I know what you mean! I think the idea is to be critical without being rude or mean.

My confusion here is that the post is by Chrissy. In her profile she states she is a model and a photograper. So, does she want a crtique of her modeling or of the photographers work?

As far as the "Be Kind", I think people are too thin skinned. If I post asking for criticism I am really looking for someone to tell me what is right/wrong with the image. Is the exposure correct? If not, what should have been done to correct it. Is the composition good? If not, why? That sort of thing. It can be a fabulous tool if the reviewer gives not only their criticism, but also gives tips or suggestions to improve the problem.

That's why I think it's a great GG community service when posters put shots of their lighting set ups with an image. A novice can then see the placement of the lights, reflectors, flags, etc.
