A shot from yesterday. I like the photo but I think the lighting is out of control.

very nice setup, everything's good not out of control but you could have used a light source or reflector at bottom left to kick some light on the face but then again it shows some depth also. It depends how you judge it. But overall you did an awesome job.

I don't know what's going on here. I mean obviously he is a mechanic and a hood of a car is open and he's sitting on the front of the car. With the low key background and the subject blocking to much of the theme, things get lost.

A rim light on his dark hair would help and a pose that would open up the view of the car. His elbow is hot where you have the light to camera left.

My quick observation of something I want you to consider.

Thanks, i totally agree with you. It seems I shouldn't be so quick about changing the set up -- or at least I should use the meter after moving stuff around.
