Well the sheet is wrinkled for one thing and that always distracts for me from the subject. Also there is a faint blue cast to the photo and you can see it quite a bit on the right part of the background. It makes the subject look a bit cool so you need to work on the White balance when shooting. You have to be careful when having the model turn her head to far to either side as it often does what it had done here, produce a fold in the skin on the neck. It would have been better for the model to twist here torso a bit more toward the camera and the neck problem would have gone away. Also there appear to be 4 catchlights in the eyes which is sort of overkill for a simple portrait type shot.

Cheers,
rfs

I'll echo everything Mr. Smith said --- plus add that there's an odd shadow running down her left cheek and I'm not fond of the makeup on her left cheek which curves around toward her eye and makes her cheek look strange. I'd love to see more of this model as she's very striking.

1. pose - Take her shoulder back and drop it down. This will make her have a neck and smooth out the crink in it and her breast wrinkle and open up the cleavage angle a little more.

2. light - Not sure if you have a household lamp down below making her cleavage area yellow with an on camera flash or what is going on. Light sources are at different temps making things yellow and blue. You then have this light coming in making a nose shadow that is not flattering to the model.

3. Make up - Not a fan of Glossy lip stick......

I'll agree with the previous comments. What I DO like is the vibrance of color and the gorgeous model. There is something very arresting about the posing and perspective.

I look forward to seeing more work!

PS If your model wants more shots I'm in the Silver Spring area.

Hello Dan,

I think most of the critiquing I would have is because the model is too close to the background and the lighting on the background is uneven. A lot of the problems with strange lighting on the face would really be solved by getting her away from the background and flagging off some light fill.

Take a look at this link that Andy pearlman posted some time back that shows a shot of his studio setup for a white background. This helped me immensely.
Andy Pearlman's White Background Setup.

I want to thank you all. I know now why may photographers have gray hair or look to be in a bad mood when they should be loving life. Studio lighting. move it this way move it that way now that looks like oh dam look at that shadow just enough to drive a guy nutts. I have more shots of her and am also looking for some more photographers to work with her as well. we plan to shoot again this week I will try some of what I seen in that studio setup and get a Iron.lol but thanks guys
