Tried to carry out the suggestions from my last effort.

Main light to camera left with silver brolly about 8ft from Jen and about 8ft high. 40 inch silver reflector about 4ft to model right. Second light with soft box to right and behind Jen pointing at white paper BG. Jen about 6ft from BG.

I've tried cropping some of the space around slightly, but I'm not happy with the results.

Any suggestions and constructive criticism appreciated

the Small image Police will want a larger image to really tell....but the lighting looks good...had she turned her nose just a little too her right...just an inch....you would have gotten a bit more light on her left eye, cant really tell because the image is small...But Kudos on the lighting!!

cheers Don, I tried taking you advice and keep it simple. I don't think I can post any bigger until I join, unless I'm doing something wrong. I am setting the photo to 72ppi and then adjusting the longest edge to 600 pixels. Is this right? This is the size it appears in my portfolio.

Cool! it worked!! now just a little tip!! have your model shift the hips so they arent straight on with the camera...very narrowing effect!!
Looks like you two have a fun photographic future!!

For this particular subject you should turn her to her left and lean her shoulders to the camera a little by standing tall. Then wrap the light around a little more to her face. Just my observation. The image is kind of small to critique over all but I think my suggestion would be more flattering to your subject here.

Thanks JT

I've been collecting images that I like from magazines to help Jen and myself with the posing. I'm then trying to work out the lighting for the shot. This was an image of Fergy (sp?) from the Black Eye Peas. It's amazing how much you can learn. She's back on Saturday so I'll try your suggestions.

I'll also try and get the image bigger!
