There's too much flare for my preference. Other than that, it's a nice shot.

I love the model and the location. It just seems like there's a bit of lense flare. Try color correcting for her skin tones.

Attractive model. A little more fill light might have helped with this image. But for those who are not sure, this is not lens flair, this is light spill. Lens flair creates those small areas of colored light, usually in some type of circlular shapes or streaks of light.

Thanks for the replies. There was no fill light used. I was trying to practice a technique of using a window for a 'highkey' background. Perhaps there I overexposed the window or just too much dr for digital. I will try some adjustments and re-post.

Who me nervous!

Thanks Chris.

That type of flare only manifests itself when the light source is actually in the frame, or not far out. In this case, there is a bright light source, it's just not a POINT source...it's a large window that's much brighter than the subject.

Since Wikipedia words things more eloquently than I do...

[ QUOTE ]
When a bright light source is shining on the lens but not in its field of view, lens flare appears as a haze that washes out the image and reduces contrast.

Your idea of trying to get the high key effect that way can work, but there may have been too many stops between your subject and the background light. I've seen the same thing happen with some who shoot high key in a studio with the white paper backdrop. Try try again as some say.

I think that someone commented on your model appearing to be a little nervous?

I believe that would be very similar to a studio setting where the light on the white background is much brighter than the light on the subject. Too many stops between the background and the foreground of the model. The light can tend start to surround the outer edges of the model and loose some detail while making the model appear to be a little dark.

Good stuff. Thanks for another intelligent view point.
