okay, so I can't post to the other gallery, hopefully I can put this here without much fuss... shot tonight and looking for more critique. This is my first nude shoot, and I don't know what I am missing, if i am missing anything, or if I should stick to puppies and children... i was hoping for a dramatic lighting and care really most about that. Also any help with posing and what not would be wonderful. Thanks...

Be forewarned that below lies NUDITY...

Hey Paul, definately don't think you need to stick to puppies and children! It's a very good shot with just a few things to work on. You didn't say what lighting you were using, but did you use a softbox or diffuser? Unless you were planning on over exposing on the shoulder you might try backing the light up a bit or diffusing it a bit so it touches and doesn't overpower. Overall great job.

Ron

P.S. I'm a newbie to so hopefully better togs with jump in and help us both out.

Thanks, Yeah, the light was pretty damn close due to space limitations. It's a 300ws with a white umbrella... but trust me when I say it was NOT firing at full power or anywhere near there...

Thanks for the suggestions and I appreciate your comments, maybe I can venture a bit further then where I have been...

On my monitor her right shoulder is blown out and the shadows are blocked up.

If you have space limitation try putting a diffusion material between the umbrella and the model. On the other side bounce a little fill in with some white foamcore.

With a lighting setup and pose like this you are looking to make dramatic shadows and make them interesting....just a little detail. You are almost there, so give it a try again.

Yep, no need to shoot puppies and children. This shot doesn't appeal to me artistically, but I think it's technically pretty good. Keep shooting you're on the right track.
