This was taken in the front waiting room of an office that I was cleaning. I had an hour down time waiting for wax to dry ... yes... that's right ... I only dream about making money with my photography ... the rest of the time I run a cleaning service. Anyway, I had the time and a willing model/fellow cleaning person. So I threw some fabric over an office chair ...opened the mini blinds and posed her sitting on the floor where the sunlight would just hit her hair. I used my EX420 on a bracket for fill light.

Please let me know what you think. Lighting, Posing, Crop and Framing ... you get the idea. Thanks and I look forward to posting more in the future.

Welcome to GG.

The hair tends to blend in with the background and tends to mute the photo a bit. Probably if you'd arranged the pose so that more of the sunlight hit the background and used the flash as the main light with an exposure to let the sunlight adequately light the background, it would have worked better.

Cheers,
rfs

Thanks for the advice. I was trying to get the hair to glow with the sunlight, but you are right, it would help if the background didn't blend in with everything. The image you posted shows that quite well.

I look forward to other comments as well. Thanks.
