("Drop Job" is the term I use for taking an element from one picture and putting it into another picture in such a way that the element looks like it was always in the second picture.)

This is the third time I've taken pictures during a shoot with the express purpose of trying to make a mirror show something different than what was actually in front of it.

First attempt: Miserable failure.

Second Attempt: Almost worked, but technical problems didn't allow a final image I wanted to let anybody see.

Third Attempt:

The lighting isn't good, and that's one of the things I need to address next time. But the drop job, to me, looks pretty good and I think that with one more shot I can just about nail this. Comments on technique are welcome, as are any tips you'd care to share on planning and executing shots for this sort of thing. I can share the lessons I've learned if anybody wants to hear about them.

Very nice. These kind of shots are fun to do. Its made even easier by having a plan of what you after before shooting the shots and then shoot the shots needed to match the plan. Here is one of mine:

Cheers,

Nice concept. Keep working at it and you will get it.

Take a look at RFS portfolio. He has a lot of really great ideas and shots. Sorry I can't post some of mine but my brides don't want their pictures posted.
