Howdy, back again and this time there's no cheesy column in sight (see my previous post). I got to shoot with Valerie again today but it was in her apartment. Not enough room for a proper background so I threw a sheet up but since I'm a bachelor it was all wrinkled which means I had to cut her out in PS. Other than that the only other work was contrast and sharpening. Comments of all kinds kindly accepted.

Thanks, David

Very nice work! You did a good job cutting her out of the background, but you might look at the back of her neck. It looks like there's an odd bump there. You did a nice job with the exposure, and I like the pose.

Beautiful model.

I, too, find the back of the neck very distracting, a slight change in pose could have corrected this at exposure.

I would also consider PS out the ripple in the fabric at her left elbow, the material and pose really accentuates the curve of her body and the ripple is an awkward speed bump, in that delightful trip.

The hand placement seems angular compared to her curviness, finding just the right position could make them appear more natural and inviting.

I would also like to see how a companion shot with a more sultry expression works with the cat suit, maybe even a pouty look would be fun.

Looks like a great shoot, and model, keep up the good work.

BG, thanks for the comments. That is the shape of her neck. I had several shots of this pose to choose from and this one had the best expression so I went with it. Valerie is so thin that the biggest challenge with her posing is to reduce the angularity (for lack of a better word). I could cetainly PS it in the final print but I will let her be the judge. I will post another shot when I get home from work this evening.

DDC, thanks for the comments. As I said to BG I will let Valerie decide the amount of PS work in the final print (if she even chooses this particular shot ). As for the ripple it was a challenge in all the shots because the suit was slightly loose on her. I have quite a few unusable ones. That's what I get for borrowing lingerie from my sister...LOL.

Ok...I agree with the bump on the neck, actually, I don't mind the white on white, she's a pretty model, but I'm not crazy about the pose at all. It makes me think she is unsure of herself. Pose mixed with the expression, gives me the feeling that she is just not at all confident. I'd like to see other poses you shot.

Kelly, I actually played with several different colors after I cut her out from the background and wound up liking white the best. It just had the cleanest feel. As for the pose making her look less than confident I will have to take the blame. The crossed arms were my suggestion. Anyway, I was busier today than expected and only got to play with one shot, which I am posting. The other two are for comparison to the original pose so you guys can see some of the other choices I had but they are not processed yet due to time constraints. I'll still gladly accept any comments, though.

Thanks, David

Hey David. Good job on cutting her out in PS. Just curious, as someone who does (did - currently out on disability) for a living for an advertising company, how did you do it? I ain't knocking the job you did, just curious as far as the process due to the fact that I can think of several ways of doing this in Photoshop. Anyways, I do like the image in the artistic dept. Looking forward to hearing your method.

well they can't all look as confident as you, standing butt-deep in the water staring at the sun with such, uhhh... defiance.

much better without the columns. i agree about the neck altho i didn't find it distracting in an overly obvious way and my eyes weren't automatically drawn to it, its just that it's bent a little weird in that pose.... maybe a chiropractor could have helped.

personally, i was too busy admiring her pretty face and the beautiful curve of her derriere.
