I've been making a dedicated effort recently to shoot models of all sizes, shapes and colors. Some of these experiments have been successes, others, not so much. Rina is precisely the reason I've been making this effort. She's of Indian extraction, and has the most astonishing skin coloration I've ever seen. It's hard as all get out to capture, and I'm hoping to lure her back now that I've fought with PS to sort out color correction...

very beautiful model...
only thing I would change is bump up the midtones
by a tiny bit and crop the extra space over her head,
that way it gives a tighter crop.

I agree with the other post about the crop and the model. I shoot a lot of people with darkerskintones and blackhair in front of blackback grounds. I I think you will get some improvement by balancing the color - I think her blouse was probably white but you have it a bit yeallow in this image. When you get the blouse white you will probably find the whole image will be brighter and her skin tone may reappear as it is lightened. When I take this kind of shot I try to always rememebr to make a SPECIAL effort to light the HAIR so it is not lost in the background - when you do this will you may also brighten the image and get the skin tone you are after.

WHen the hair is tight to the head there is a really big issue lighting it.

Actually, the blouse is unbleached muslin, and both it and her skin are pretty close to accurate. Which is why I was both fascinated and frustrated by this shoot... The hair is definitely underlit here, although it's much punchier in the print. I hates the web conversion.

I have to agree with Gus about the hair lighting being a necessity here. In fact, I would fix that before lightening (although it could possibly use some of that). Some of the darkness, though, is an optical illusion since we want to see more of the hair. Hope this helps.
