Hello, These were taken with my trusty pentax k-1000 and have not been retouched. If your wondering about the lines running throught the first image, what can i say power lines jump into the picture at the last second

Welcome to the boards Rob! The images you posted seem to be good editorial / commercial style, I do wish however they were larger as to accuratly see the model and lighting.

Looking forward to seeing more!
Alicia

Well....... I know your supposed to see the background as well as the subject, When the subject is a beautiful girl you can get caught up focusing on the subject. You just got to watch out for that. At least you didn't do what I did once. I was shooting some beautiful Live Oaks with IR film. I didn't see the power lines till I printed The photo's. Boy did I get disappointed with that. I learned a lesson though, look before you push that button.

My mentor is a retired high school photography teacher. There are about 5 general rules but high up there is "Fill the frame." I think your 2nd post is better for this.
#1 is a nice shot with a nice upward angle, good evening light and interesting (but not distracting)background. #2 is not as interesting and the model does not connect with us, the viewers, since she is looking to the side.
Keep shooting and share.

Jim

P.S. Try not to cut feet or hands off...it is a rule most of us observe and will get you comments every time you post.
