Is that peeling skin on her forhead or icing from the cake she dipped her head into. Sorry - just a joke - the point is the forhead distraction - distracts from the image and personally i would like to see the front shoulder back so we had an unicumbered view of her face. She is very beautiful and the image is great but for those points.

could just be my screen, but the image lacks any kind of "pop" to it, seems rather flat

Little bit of level playing, little contrast, something, other then that the shoulder most certainly a distraction and some of the hair on the left ear a distraction.

Would say mothball this shot, but your onto something with a good model with great eyes.

Sorry, brain fried I don't have anything more then that at the moment

Looks like a "snap shot..." but I'm no expert.

amazingly, the moment the image appeared, my eyes went straight for that splotch and bit of water on her forehead; in spite of the fact that it looks like her eyes are over-sharpened and the whites of her eyes are the brightest things in the image.

i don't think that'a a good thing.

Image is flat. Catchlights seem odd - right in the center of the pupil. How did you light this to get it so flat? Splotch on forehead is distracting. Cropping too tight. Is this the original image, or did you crop it in post processing? The shot needs work on the contrast and levels.

Cheers,
rfs
