The pose seems a bit artificial and strained especially the arm and hand in the foreground. The lighting is a bit flat and you need to do something about seperation from the background. Also the foot poking out the rear doesn't work too well. The model is lovely and I think with a few tweaks to your lighting and posing you can get some great shots of her.

Cheers,

Thanks for the comments. I used a 2 light set up - the main light is a large softbox pointed directly at here with a large silver umbrella for fill off at a 45 degree angle. The fill light was a stop off from the main. Any suggestions?

Umbrellas tend to do that and to wrap the light around so that the lighting ratio gets skewed. A soft box allows more control. I usually don't mix softbox and umbrella lighting as main and fill, but will use umbrellas for the background with using a softbox for the main. I think if you adjust the contrast curves in PS that the photo can be pumped up somewhat.

Her right hand looks to be deformed (God, I hope it's not) and unless you're shooting feet-showing the bottom of the feet is a no-no. The reflection underneath her is distracting to me but it's more of a personal thing than anything else.

Scott's right. Pump up the contrast just a little-but not much.

I like the overall look of the image. Then when I look at the fingers, it adds tension to her pose, not relaxed. If she looks at the camera, most viewers would like to see the eyes…maybe you could bring them up. Lastly, the left foot seems to look a little odd not being able to see toes.
I also would not use mirror surfaces for nudes because the reflections are going to be hard to control.
Again, nice image and you are lucky to have such a lovely figure model.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried the softbox for fill as I was getting hot spots from using two softboxes. In fact I toned down the contrast to help reduce a hot spot on her back that I had to burn in. I will keep playing.

thanks for the candid feedback. Her hand is fine - we were going (mistakenly) for stylized. The reflection surface was an experiment that worked better in other images from this shoot.

Thanks for the kind words and suggestions. I am so fortunate that Shiela is so relaxed in front of the camera that our apparently attempt at "stylized" did not appear to work.
