Here is a shot I took a couple of weeks ago during a calendar shoot.

I think it works pretty well. The theme of the calendar was WW2 jeep and girl. So I dressed the model in 1940s clothing.
Here are some more from the same shoot that I used to build a 2006 calendar.

This was my first shoot with a model, props and scenes. Maybe it isn't very professional but all of us involved had a blast.

What do you think?

I think its a novel idea on here!

Don,

That's a really nice image. If I may though, I'd like to offer a couple of things that will make it killer.

First, Deeann's hand looks fat. Have her turn it so you see more of a profile and less of the back of the hand. Also, a little more curve in the fingers would work well, too.

It's soft and glamourous. Really nice image man!

Hey Robert:

I saw this last week when you posted it and always ment to come back to it. You've got a big website and some excellent images of that jeep man. You have excellent detail in light and shadow of specific equipment for a showpiece jeep while still giving the viewer the added enjoyment of looking at a well crafted photographic image.

I'm a big fan of the 30's and 40's pin-up artists and you've got the perfect equipment for a retro glamour series. Have fun with it and I hope to see more.

Thank you for the comments! Here's another one that I experimented with...

On this one, I first converted the photo to BW. Then colorized the red flash of her dress. I also tried to colorize her lips but I just couldn't get the look I was aiming for. So I left it off most of my attempts. Finally I also cropped the image as there was too much empty space at the back of the jeep.T

Comments? I should also note that this is a black dress. The jeep is painted in olive drab lustreless paint which is sort of a light absorbing paint. Under "ideal" conditions (paint, weather, etc) light is not reflected very well. So anyway, I'm not see a lot of contrast between the dress and the jeep

So with my uneducated art background I'm guessing that you would be drawn to the red flash/legs. Now my instict seems to be to work my way up in the photograph.

This one might be too small to see the detail. I like the pose, the out of focus background. If you could see the background clearly it would take away the illusion I was trying to great--the 1940s. Of course the illusion would be stronger if I had converted it to color.

Most of these I wasn't looking to attempt an aged photo but rather something that could have been taken as if today were in the 1940s.

Hoping to line up another model...for more of the same type of shots/scenes.

Thanks. I have found another model and hope to shoot some more WW2 next week. Don't really have much time to piece the wardrobe together this time--so no telling what the shoot will yield.
