I am not sure what I can say that will be constructive other then to scrap it and try again. I know that is kinda harsh and it is not a personal attack in any way, but what is the point of this shot. It doesnt flatter the model at all and it certainly doesnt showcase your abilities in a favorable way. Looking at your port here I know you can do better. I will look forward to your next post.

Scott

Well, thanks for keeping it real. When I saw a the thumbnail of that one, I came to the same conclusion -> not flattering.

Okay I dont want to sound really bad...but as far as not flattering..your two for two here...the way your posing this model...is making her really broad thru the hips...and you and I both know a lady doesnt want to look broad in the hips..twist those hips so they arent straight on to camera. same goes for the shoulders...this is something I had to learn too....so dont take it as being harsh.

Thanks guys. At least I won't get a big head. Don, I looked at your portfolio and noticed that you did Lil Miss Muffet. Do you remember how you lighted it? was it strobes? I saw that one in a thread a week ago and it inspired me.

That does help. I have been considering a soft box -- maybe even making one. I usually use a silver umbrella and a shoot through umbrella. For the this one I am using a silver umbrella at 45 down, this puts the umbrella at about 10 ft up. I also used a white reflective umbrella about head level. For that shot, They are really spread more than I normally would. I had to do it because of space but I actually like the result. I still have it setup and will probably try again tonight. Ill have to look into a soft box because it is probably better than the result I can achieve with a shoot-through umbrella.
