Hi Dan,

Welcome to GG. There are a lot of great photographers to learn from here. You will need to post a larger image like 400x600 pixels in order to get a critique. Have fun!

Rick

A list of things to remember...#1 read and remember the rule of the thirds,
#2 Study all you can about lighting and shadows. #3 study your model look at whats flattering and what isnt(Im still learning this one). once you learn these three you have a good starting basis for creating better images...after that watch those Details!! trust me..they'll pick you apart on the Details!

Hiya. Welcome to the firing line!

As has been observed, your pic is really too small to critique. However, I can see that it looks like the top of the model's right arm is blown out, and having her elbow pointed right at the camera like that isn't usually a flattering pose. (It happens to me too, models like to do that and I often forget to stop them.)

The backdrop and the top both have some wrinkles in them: it would have been easy to fix the top, at least, just by having her smooth it. Aside from the blown arm, the lighting doesn't look bad. She looks like a cute model and I'd be interested to see the pic at a larger size.

A few other points that others have missed: Cropping is a bit tight at the top and you should generally follow the rule of cropping above the joint rather than below (as you've done here with her legs). Try looking at some glamour shots that you really like in books or sites, and then begin by imitating the posing and lighting till you find what works best for you.

Cheers,
rfs

Don- everytime I see this photo of yours, the more I like it. I may steal that pose.

Welcome aboard. Glad to see you are starting to post. The advice about posting a larger photo is correct. It's too hard to see smaller than 400x600 in order to critique properly.

Hope to see more from you.

Greg
