Well to me whats missing is a sexier pose. Have her more on her side and turned toward the camera or another pose besides having her laying flat on her back.

Well thanks, that wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Here is one with a little better pose.

I like it but I think you could do so much more with the location. You could have her giving the viewer some "bedroom eyes" for a more sensual theme, you could have her laughing out loud and looking away for a lighter feel, you could use one light (a spot light would be cool) and make it much more dramatic and then work with facial expressions as well to create the right mood. Do you have any more shots you could share? She is a lovely lady and I think you could create some great shots with her. I look forward to seeing more from you and her.

Good day sir!

Mike

I like this one better though I would have her bring her chin down a bit so the pose looks more natural and I would readjust her hands though I am not sure which way as there are different ways to do it. Her fingers look to loose and like they are just blowing in the breeze.

Well thanks for the comments. Yes here is another one. She is on her side here.

Lately I have trying to use longer focal lengths. All of these are my attempts at that.

Refinement is what is missing. It isn't that any one ingredient is missing, it is making each one a little better. Just use this a a starting point and try to improve each and every part. The pose should be more of an S curve. Arms extending out to camera right could enhance that. For feminine poses, "if it bends, bend it." A turn of the body, as mentioned. This would show the curve of the subject's waist. Placing one knee over the other to narrow that area would help the pose and figure look much better. I'd cover the couch with fabric to lose those stripes. Finally, the lighting is flat. Maybe the subject could be in profile with the main from behind and above skimming across her body and face. Best regards.

Another one. These also reflect a change in lighting for me. I have been using shoot through umbrellas for the both the key and fill lights. In these shots, I am using a vivitar 285HV with a pocket bouncer for the key light.

These are kind of raw. Cropped and scaled for web, that is it.

This one shows the long lens.

Maybe her upper body and head should be raised to show her face better?

Refinement of course. Well I can't blame the model but I know what you mean. I need to keep them posed after releasing the shutter, adjust the pose and shoot again. As soon as the shutter is released, she is off to something else. I need to work on my communication skills.

Thanks again.

Good point. I'd use an old Monte idea. Pose it. Light it. Refine it. Frequently, I try to share control with the model. Once I have a basic pose and direction of light, I encourage the model to explore some additional poses. A good model can undestand where the light is coming from and pose into it. She is getting positive feedback from your clicks. Just explain to her what you doing so that she won't feel negative feedback from the refinement process.
