Maybe a bit too much fun...I sometimes wonder if we dont annoy the photogs with all our image posts...think it might be time to slow down an bit.
I've noticed lately that the veterans really dont post much to "newbies" images much anymore. its really kind of a shame..because who needs help more?
Pros? or Newbies?....mmmmm....food for thought I guess. I think Ive learned enuff to slow down and start taking time creating better images...so its really not my posts Im concerned about..I just see alot of that kind go going on lately...if it isnt contraversy....they dont seem much interested.
Don.

Here is my ranking: 3, 2, 1.

The first one has too many details in neck area and would have been better if the left had was also folded in front (same as right hand). Just my thoughts.. as I always say.. I am not a pro.

Ditto on 3-2-1.
I would buy her shampoo in #3.

I like the crops and the poses. IMHO her face in # 1 needs work. The line to the right of her mouth and the blemishes need PS work. I would also take the magenta down a bit in her skin, bring up the yellow and bring up the saturation a little also. Just my 2 cents!

#2 works nicely. unless its my laptop monitor, skin tones seem a bit off: kinda seem to be on the magenta side. cute model, gorgeous hair! you might be able to fix the tonal stuff with curves or levels. people sometimes think those tools are just about the black and the whites, but they effect the tonal range as well.

Sorry dont mean to hijack this thread but I think my question is pertinant to the images....I get alot of comments saying my images look magenta too...so I correct them with color balance..... is the magenta due to wrong white balance?
and are Golden Skin tones the protocal?
Don.

it can certainly be a WB thing. it might also be coming from ambient or reflective light where you're shooting. there's this one model. i shoot for her website. we often shoot in her bedroom. the walls are painted this very soft yellow and if i'm not careful, the images all come out with a slightly yellow caste from some of the light from my strobes bouncing off the walls. i'm not saying this is the problem with your stuff, but you have to even sometimes be looking at things like the color of the paint in a room, or the carpet.

goldend hues on naked skin are certainly pleasing, but i wouldn't call it some kind of rigid protocol.
