To add to Mike's comments,
On the first image, it's a little thing, but your perspective (looking down at her just a little bit) tends to shorten her neck and kinda puffs up her cheeks. Her expression is kinda forced.. just doesn't look naturally happy.
I notice that most of your images, and these two are included, are waaaaay red and a little bit blue when I look at them on either my desktop or my laptop, which both match very well. I imported your image into Photoshop and adjusted the red (-60) and blue (-11) in the color adjustments. Watch your email and I'll post it back to you to see how it looks on your monitor - mine is not calibrated using a mechanical device, so it's possible that our systems may just be out of whack with each other moreso than we see with other folks' systems.
Now, on your second shot.. it rocks! Might try having her drop that closes shoulder a bit amd bring her right arm out enough so that we see where that magical appearing hand comes from, or hide the hand altogether.
It's been very interesting watching your progress through the past few weeks/months... keep up the good work!
Here's one of Melissa to prove you don't always have to drop the shoulder, either!
