I like them. Did you use your new softbox? The lighting seems different. Very nice. I think I would have gone a little different way with that outfit. I'm thinking something along the lines of the movie "Chicago". I see a (Mike Hicky will love this) bentwood chair, with her leg proped up on it, flaunting them. I would love it if she brought that outfit down. I'm inspired by it.

I think the first one has a little to much head tilt. And I was always taught a womans shoulders should never be straight onto the camera.

I think the two with the phone are just cute. But I like cheesecake. I like cute.

On the third one, I think a little more thigh would have been good.

In general, I think they are very good. Love the outfit and the background. The lighting is great!! You do wonderful things with lighting. I need to learn to use my backlight and gels more.

Have a great evening!

Thanks Cin, I'll be sure to bring it. It was something a little different for me. As for the chair I have been looking for one and wont give up till I find one.

Have a great night

I agree with Cin on the first one... my only problem with them is (and it may just be me) that the dress looks 20s style while the gloves look 80s
The dress is adorable and I agree would've looked real nice in a Chicago type pose. ...and maybe a little less smile, more of a sultry "I'm so sexy" look lol But all in all I think I like... looks good on ya DeAnn

Don:

Over the last several months you have shown a tremendous jump in your abilities. Of course, it appears you have a willing and tolerant model (my wife just snarls at me when I ask her to pose for me).

You photoshopping, adjustments, posing and basic skills are coming together.

I don't think I have ever commented on any of your images before, but these are the best I have seen from you yet.

I understand you may have some new light modifiers, which may be part of the improvement, and my only real suggestion at this point is to tell you to start working on strict light control for more creative possibilities (shadows can be your friend) and then work with your model for the most pleasing poses, facial expressions, etc.

Most people start out shooting really flat lifeless images just trying to get the hang of using their lights, and then start adding hair lights and rim lights (which I see you have started) and then start playing with shadows etc.

You seem to have gotten over the first hurdle.

Keep posting.

Thank you Mark yes I did get a new 30x40 Softbox from AB...Wow what a difference..I also purchased a 10degree grid which I am going to be experimenting with this upcoming weekend..So may be posting some "ODD" lighting experiment shots for critique. DeAnn just bought that flapper dress and I just recieved the softbox.....so it had to be done if you know what I mean. she knows I really wasnt into the flapper dress...a bit girly for my tastes and I didnt care for all the fringe because it didnt accentuate her figure. she tried alot of the S curvy poses...which means the frills hung from under arm area and only got wider by the time they hit her knees which looked to me like a Wide Frilly Flag....so posing in that outfit was very limiting to me... she likes the final result alot..so that was a shoot for her. and for me on my lights..Cinn will tell you that the Wife is always right! I've taken so many of the way I wanted to see things I thought it was time to let my Model be a little creative and see what she can come up with...I think she did an exellent job, even though it isnt my thang..she pulled it off stunningly.
I have been told before that with my lighting Ive been playing it "Safe"
which is probably true. However I've been practicing and practicing the similar lighting effect so I wouldnt forget it! Im old you see....I have to drive this things into my ever so forgetful mind. Rick.D was very kind and came down and spent a 16hr straight Workshop with me...it was a humungous amount to absorb in one day...however the more time goes by ..things he showed me are starting to sink in...and Im dying to experiment with what he taught me.
so this weekend..... Im going to experiment with Shadow. Hopefully not failing.
But if I do fail then I've learned something...dont do that again!
P.S. Im going to let Cinn and Zairia have at that Flapper dress when we go to visit them, I think they could give it the right touch it needs.
Im going back to the Skimpy stuff shots...unless the guys really want me to stay with the flapper dressy stuff. Thanks again Mark.
Don.

Thanks Dusti, but If I mess with my smile then they say I look mad. Got to work on that some more.

so, okay. you shot some "period" stuff with the dress and the prop.. so how about turning some of them into B&W and/or Sepia like they'd be from that time period? Yeah, you lose the "red" in the red dress, but what the heck...

i love the gloves, btw.

hey, since De is into stockings and that kinda stuff, check out this site if you haven't already. not only great sexy products, but some pretty good photography.
