I was working on some of the digital backgrounds. What do you think?

The shot of the model is nice. That I like. The background is not to my liking, looks like something from the county fair, and it makes her look as though she is floating. Best Regards, Darrell

Nice shot of the model, I also am not a fan of the floating in air effect. I have only used digital backgounds a few times and only for non full body shots.

Thanks for the reply. The problem I have with this that it looks to much like a cut out (that it is).Hair is especially hard to extract. I haven’t tried it on this!!!!

I like to play with these kinds of effects. Here are a few examples that I've tried:

Cheers,

Digital backgrounds are nice at times but only when you can make it look like it was the actual background you were shooting on. The floating look completely ruins a shot for me. It definately takes alot of practice to really master the art of using digital backdrops.

There is a photographer here in Calgary, that does the most amazing things with digital post.
His name is Frederick Potter and I'll tell you what, I'm am always impressed with his work.
He creates these amazing digital realities within his images, they are quite good.
Personally, I find the floating model syndrome on digital backgrounds to look pretty hokey. I have done some myself but never with full lengths.
I find it hard to get good results although the some of the above images are quite good.
That's just my 2 cents, Canadian.
Take care,
Craig
