This type of photo seems to be done exclusively in color. Does the B&W kill the photo or enhance it? Please share any other comments you might have on either photo.

This was shot with a white reflected umbrella over her right shoulder. It was placed as low as possible on the stand and about 4 feet away. A pair Photoflex 48-inch soft gold reflectors were on her left.

I used a Nikon D100 with a AF Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D. Settings were f/5.6 and 1/125 second. One of her black stockings was used over the lens for a diffused look.

Nice conversion. It's hard to choose. I really like them both. Nice work.

I think the first image is a little soft, but I like it. Have to admit the way the hem of her skirt has risen up to expose her naughty bits is something of a distraction.

I think conversion is well done to B&W, but there's too even of grey in the image for it to really work for me. I like the color version better. If there were more shadow I think the B&W would be better.

I'd opt for the color version, and if you have a chance to reshoot pull the hem down (I also think it is a distraction). Nice shot!

because the floor and the skin tone are in the same tonal range, the eye goes immediately to the image's highlight which is the camisole. the cropping/framing also moves the eye that way. there's probly some PS stuff you could do to focus more attention on the model and make the overall pic seem less flat.

I like the color shot best. Her eyes are so beautiful too. They are sulty and sexy and draw me right in. To be honest, the hem being up doesn't distract me in the least. I think because of the overall brightness of the image, my eyes were much more drawn to the red lipstick and then naturally to her eyes. The expression is very disarming and almost compelling the view to come hither, as it were. Nicely done in my opinion. Thanks for sharing!

Good day!

Mike
