BUsy busy guy, but I want to help you. First, let me start with a kudos. No, I'm not saying your photography is fantastic, but I am saying kudos for trying. You're gonna make a huge leap by listening to what credible people have to say and applying it.
NOw, on to the photography. I don't normally offer critiques of images posted on another site. I figure you've got a port here, so use it. But, I'm a sucka for a guy using a 20D, AB's, and L glass.
- This is the image I am choosing to critique.
First the concept is nice. I like the idea of nude relaxing at evening. I can tell you used the sun as your main light source. But the shadows are especially harsh in late afternoon lighting. It's really hard to utilize late afternoon lighting without a reflector or some kind of artificial assistance. You could have done one of two things. Either have her drop her right leg or bounce a little light in there so the shadow isn't so harsh. She's got great definition in the abs, but that harsh shadow just ruins it. Also have her get some the weight off her left arm. When she leans on it and puts weight on it, the area near her shoulder just balloons up.
