As I was going through the pics last night I ran across this one. Now, a little context is in order. At this point, I was fooling with some settings on the camera and reviewing the past two or three images to look at the lighting. She, meanwhile, had noticed that the strap on her sandal was loose and was taking the opportunity to fix it. I looked up, saw what she was doing, and fired:

You should have seen her face when she realized what I had done. But it was too late! I had the image! She signed the paper! Bwahahahahahaha!

Actually, I think she'll forgive me when she sees the shot. One of my flashes hadn't cycled for some reason, hence the deep shadows. But I don't care, it's such a gracious and intimate shot that I can forgive it a little lost detail.

I love when we can capture those moments in time...Sometimes those are my favorite images.

*I* don't have a problem with it.

Anyway, I like that. It looks somewhat similar to the BW version I made but did not post. However, it is of course (of necessity) quite a bit harder than my color image. I like the softness of my image - that's the tradeoff. Thank you for going to so much trouble to point out a good adjustment scheme, it's very helpful.
