I have been practicing much lately, specifically with lighting. This image was taken this evening and I would appreciate any comments specifically on the lighting. I converted it to Black and White because my wife is fair skinned and I thought the black lingerie against her skin tone worked better. The color version is in my port as well...

As always comments are requested and appreciated....

Bobby,
Your lucky to have such a beautiful and patient wife. I'm not an expert by any means, but I actually prefer the color version in your portfolio. The colors of the fabric on the furniture compliment your wife's complexion IMO. Your wife looks good in the BW version, it's the overall image that is flat to me. The image is nicely cropped, lighting is nice. Perhaps a version with her looking in to the camera would be good too. Hope this helps.
Best Regards,
Darrell

Thanks Darrell...yes I am VERY lucky in many ways with this woman...

I have reviewed these shots, over and over again. Once again, this was more of a lighting session than anything else and I originally favored the B&W versions, but I am now leaning to the color. Here is on with Rhonda looking directly at camera. I think the lighting on this one is getting there, as I can see the V on the right cheekbone area...

Comments??

You are 100% correct...I had retouched a couple and I have one almost identical in tone...I think you are correct, yours works much better. I think my lighting technique is improving...It's amazing how you can SEE the shadows or lack thereof the more you practice and shoot...

Thanks Jimmy

They bith work well, personally I like the color version. The skin tone and the color of the upholserty work well together broken up by the black lingerie. Good work.

OK Darrell.... i just critiqued your image in another post.... The suggestions that I was making, were accomplished in THIS image... I like this one better and please dis-regard my other post

Hello Bobby.
I gotta say, I really like seeing your stuff as it shows the stages of growth and I hope I can learn for myself along the way. I hope you don't mind.
Jimmy's edit does kick it up a bit more.
Also, maybe tone down the pattern a bit on the couch?
Have fun!

Bobby

Since you asked, the beautiful feminine curve that flows along the hip, waist, chest; is lost in shadow. Maybe a fill light over your left shoulder, or snooted light to create a limited relief of the shadow in that area.

And yes you are blessed with a wonderful subject.
