Here are a couple from a shoot at the end of last month. I would love to have your feedback about any aspect of the shots (lighting, composition, processing, pose, etc). By the way, these are from a TFCD/test shoot.

Thanks and you can't be too harsh.

Sincerely,
Herb

MUA: Billie Joe Partridge

You did pretty good on the lighting. You could perk it up a bit by adjusting the Levels in Photoshop. Set the white point to 230 and see what you think.

Thanks, Paul. That really does make it "pop". Usually I shoot RAW and fix underexposure in C1. This was the first time that I have done an entire shoot in JPG and I forgot to make the adjustment in PS.

Thanks Again,
Herb

Here's the updated version.

You've got a little bit of spill on the model from the gel you threw onto the background. Get her a little further away from the background, or bump up the main and fill then compensate with a smaller aperture to acheive the same effect.

I like #1 the bast.

What does adjusting the levels have to do with whether you shoot in raw or jpg?

When I shoot RAW, I usually make all exposure adjustments (levels, curves or EC) in Capture One before I ever covert the image for editing in PS. Since I don't normally do this step in PS, I simply overlooked it for this particular image.

Thanks, Mike. I saw that, too - unfortunately, not until I was back at home - LOL.

I like #1, the only thing I would like a little better is to maybe edit out the shadow above her eye from the strand of hair. Also, I would like to see her hand, I don't like how it's cropped off.

I like Image #1 but don't really care for Image #2 (too much spill, fairly flat lighting -- no highlights in the hair). Number 1 has an elegant look to it and the contrast is dead on in my opinion. Nice work.
