too much?

Hello, any thoughts here would be appreciated, especially constructive criticism. I was goofing around with my friend Valerie in her apartment trying out my new Canon MR14 ring flash and also figuring out how to make it control a 550EX wirelessly, so we didn't go to very much trouble with our "set". Thus the crappy background. Trouble is, we both like this shot and I want to make her a nice print. Did I do too much already in Photoshop or should I do more (ie; cut her out and create a nicer background)? Maybe I should just set up a "real" photoshoot with her and get it right in-camera next time. Chime in with any comments you like. Thanks, David

I like the shot very much. If possible, I would bring the model back and redo the shot. I would try to get everything the way you want it before you shoot and then rely on Photoshop to fine tune the image. If you can not get her back for the reshoot, then I would work on the background a little bit more, smooth it out and continue it on the floor to remove the seam. Great shot, beautiful model. I like it...

Here's a tip:
If you want to iron out the backdrop or any clothing select the clone tool and set to about 50% opacity set the tool blending mode to luminosity. Select a large soft brush and on the area you want to iron select a clone area now paint somewhat to one side or the other do this repeatedly and eventually the wrinkles will even out. You will have to do this in all directions or a pattern will develop.

Sorry about not being able to see it. I'm a cheap bastard so I have it on the free Yahoo service and they limit the bandwidth. When it gets too much traffic they shut it down for an hour.
