I am still working on a set of images I did a few months back. Here is one I like with the exceptions of the hot spots. I shot with a large main softbox with a smaller fill light and reflector. Is this an issue of metering better or am I missing something. Also, I have been working on my skin tones in PS and would appreciate specific feedback on them.

regards

How did you meter?

you do not seem to have light on the darker background, if you did not light it then the background is too light

Before digital I cheated with a manual polaroid.

it looks as tho you over exposed - I learned from Ansel adams books.

His work applies to any photosensitive material

you light for detail in the highlights and the shadows - you seem to have too much shadow detail.

You need something to seperate her hair from the background. With the three peices of equipment you alluded to-keep the main to you left, move the fill light 180º opposite the main for a hairlight and place your reflector to the models right for fill. I think you'll like the effect.

Rick D.

This image uses the same three elements-two lights and one reflector.
