On my monitor it looks like there is a magenta cast on her chest and around her eyes that looks a little odd. Also, it looks like there might be a touch too much PS on the skin. Her hand in particular looks freakishly smooth. Granted, the kino-flo lighting does lose a lot of detail. I got to build one of these set-ups!

Overall though, I like it. Very cute model and a very sexy pose.

And now, the obligatory pic of my own...

personlly, i don't care for kino-flo lighting for still photography. it's often great for video--and for a lot of reasons--but i'm not been too thrilled with the results whenever i've tried using it for stills.

Well, I like the effect, but it seems (to me) to be of very limited usefullness. So I can see where you're coming from. I guess my desire to play with the set up hasn't outweighed the combination of expense, construction time, storage space required, and limited utility of the thing once I have it.

Thanks for the helpful comments. By Kino-Flo, do you mean ringflash style lighting?

Thanks

Steve

Looks tasty. Um, yeah, the sucker/popsicle.

I also see a little too much magenta on this. Not much, but some(could be my monitor). Other than that, I like it.
Beautiful model too! Is she local to Dallas area? I'm in North Dallas and would love to shoot with her.

Steve,

Very nice image! Like others have mentioned, I also see a bit of magenta in the image on my monitor... a +20 green color balance adjustment knocked it right out... though I like the image better with just a bit more saturation, as well (also +20) (these are Photoshop values, by the way).

Indeed, she's a lovely model... as another local (I work just to the west of the Speedway and my studio is in Keller - so if you wanna grab a cup of coffee or a Dr. Pepper sometime...) I'd also be interested in knowing if she's available for other work. Phone number is on my portfolio if you're interested.

By the way.. was this a commercial ring light or a homegrown one? I've got one of the homemade rigs using four sets of daylight balanced flourescents in my studio, now, and it gives me a definite squarish catchlight that I don't know that I see in her eyes... but, being a low-res JPEG, couldn't blow it up enough to really tell.

Anyway, glad to see another DFWD (that's Dallas-Fort Worth-Denton for you non-metromess folks!) GG member. We may have to start a North Texas chapter to get to meet each other.

Wayne

And, here's my obligitory shot... also taken with the home made "kino" light...

If you don't get any takers on your offer for a cup-o-Joe, I'm interested. Hell, even if you do get takers, I'm still interested. Can't beat good coffee and some shop talk.

Marty

Here's Kimberly (another great Dallas area model) just chillin' out.

Marty,

Hmmm.. seems like it's not so far fetched as an idea, eh? Gotcha on the list!
