What do you think of chicks with feathers. The only PS is crop and shadow in the raw dialog adjustment box.

Can't believe you didn't get any feedback on this one. I like the creativity of the shot and the mystery the mask adds. Colors look just a bit muted to me, but that may be the way they actually appeared. I guess my mind just expects blue feathers to be a vivid blue, and I have a tendency to like warmer skin tones. What was your lighting set-up?

This one must be so bad no one even knows where to start. They look a little muted to me also. Room for way more images in my portfolio than I own so I'll put this one up twice so I wont break the link to the original. I tweaked the levels adjustment and now the feathers are richer but the mask is blown out. Which one looks better to you? Maybe I'll have to get fancy and put a mask on the mask and then adjust only the feathers. With my PS skills I should be able to complete that task in about a week. I'm also not sure I like the almost square crop.
Now regarding your work, join Lifetime and start posting larger. All the other money we spend on equipment it's pretty inexpensive, and no, Rolando does not have me on commision. The 600 on one side and 150k limit even feels small to me but I believe they are planning on raising the limits. Not to mention you can then post more of your lovely model.

Ken,

A week to fix in PS, huh? Where'd you learn to move so fast? I just got wise to the power of using layers. As for the shot, I like the feathers better but you are right that the mask is blown out. The skin tones still don't do a lot for me, but I have learned that my taste tends to be toward overly warm skin tones. My wife says that since I'm a Tennessee Volunteers fan and graduate I must like my women orange. Thanks for your kind comments on my initial posts, and I do intend to upgrade to post larger and more files. At this time my wife (15 years in March) remains my sole model and will likely remain the subject of my posts. I've shot a few other women but do not have releases.

yeah, the colors are muted, but that's a quick fix in PS. next time however, i think i'd recommend paying more attention to her makeup. her lips offer no contrast. a redder or wine-colored lip gloss would have contrasted nicely with both her skin and the blue feathers... at least that's my humble opinion. looks like the mrs. is quite lovely. do we get to see her unmasked? or did i miss that post?

OK the mask is off. The Model is Elizabeth Kelly Model #32406. What a sweet heart she is, I enjoyed her immensely. She was very tolerant of a newbie photog.
My wife is easy on the eyes as well, maybe someday I'll post her as well. I really value you input what do you think of this one. Exact same lips, are they still to dull with a different theme.
