This is Sarah. Please tell what you think?

I'm looking for some help too. I'm loosing some warmth in the photo when converting for web. Both using "Save as web" and using a straight save to jpg in PS. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Luis

Pretty model, I like the pose alot...Your right, it lacks warmth on my monitor....
I use the the hue/saturation option in photoshop, select the yellow and increase percentage up to 50%. I found this gives images the warm quality you are looking for...Hope this helps...T Carlos
* I would like to see the results if you use this option

you're probly working in adobe RGB (1998) as your color space. it includes too many colors for the web to handle. before saving, convert your image to sRGB.

Image > Mode > Convert to Profile select sRGB as the destination color space profile then save for web.

Hey Luis, I thought I was the newbie here! I guess there's room enough in this town for both of us....

Sarah is beautiful, isn't she? Nice pose and I like the composition, too.

Yes, I agree with JimmyD. Convert to sRGB and your problems will be solved. Why Adobe doesn't do that automatically with "Save for Web" is a mystery to me.

I always prepare my image for print, keeping the Adobe profile, then do a "save as..." to create another image for web only. Then I have an action that lowers the bit depth to 8, converts the profile, and put on my usual copyright info. Takes maybe 10 seconds, and the results are worth it.

Jimmy,

Thanks for the help. I actually did a Image > Mode > Convert to Profile select sRGB. There must be something else I'm doing wrong in my steps. I'll have to try again.

Bill,

I think there's alot of of us newbies...

I had done what you and Jimmy suggested already and I'm not happy with the results. I think there is something else wrong with my steps. I need to work on it some more.

Thanks,

Luis

T.Carlos,

Thanks for the suggestons. I liked the warmth I have in the original prior to converting for Web. I'm going to try a few different things. I probably will post the before and after photos once I work it out.

Are you sure that your colors are Web safe? Subtle variations do not translate well (if at all), because of the Web's limited pallette. Be sure the "Web only colors" button is checked and it may correct itself. The other possibility, of course, is your monitor's color management.

David,

Thanks for the feedback. I'm using a GretagMacbeth eye one for color management so I think I'm okay there. You might be right about the Web only color button. I don't remember if I used it or not. I need to document the various attempts I try to see what I'm leaving out.

Thanks,

Luis
