Just curious - I'm thinking about the Pentax. What lens are you using for these? They seem a bit soft.

As for the pictures, I like this one best of the three. The second image seems "blue" in tone to and both the previous images are rather busy. I've found it quite difficult to shoot effective glamour images outdoors - very hard to simplify the backgrounds enough to focus attention on the model.

One of the gripes that I've read on the Pentax is that the images captured by the CCD are a bit soft. I reset the default sharpness to maximum, and they are still just a bit soft for me as well.

The lenses are Pentax-FA zoom lenses from the mid-90s.

I understand your point about the "busy" images. That is why I really think of my preferred style as "editorial glamour," rather than simply "glamour." I like adding some context to the picture and telling a bit of a story. "To each his own" I suppose.

Thanks for your input, and I hope that I was able to provide some useful info on the *ist-D.

Where is your focus on this image? It seems that the purdy girl in the front is not in focus while the one in the back is better in focus. I don't mind soft focus but parts of the image seem out of focus. Maybe you should have use a different F stop. Keep sharing... Jim

It was VERY late afternoon, and we got to that location about 30 minutes after I intended to get there. (Working with my wife and her friends is a bit like herding chickens.)

As a result, the sun was already behind the hill, and I opened the aperature all the way (I believe 4.0 on that lens) in order to capture all of the light that I could capture. Of course, the result was a VERY shallow depth of field.

It was already getting so dark that I the autofocus wasn't working well, so I focused manually on Katie's face. I couldn't see well enough to notice that Abigail was out of focus!

We crossed two creeks and drove home in full dark. LOL
