Here is another I took. I feel real good about directing the model on this one but wasn't happy with the some of the lighting after the fact or the distractions in the upper right corner. Guess it will require more PS..... Luis

Just a thought - instead of manipulating the image in PS, why not just crop closer? Seems to me that the image would benefit by filling more of the frame with the model.

Also - it's generally better to post a touch larger if you're asking for criticisms.

Just my opinion.

John,

Thanks for the feedback and suggestion to crop. I'll have to try that. What is a suggested photo size for critisim?

I recall it being suggested that 600 pixels on the long side gives a nice size. The guidelines suggest a maximum of 35K for the size of the image, but with jpegs, that still allows for 400 x 600, depending on compression factor used. [I think the 35K "rule" is violated frequently, and I actually think it's meant to refer to the little picture used with every post, but I can't tell for certain from the guidelines or the FAQ.]

John,

I have an action that I use for another site which resizes to 500 x 333. I'll have to find the official guidelines for GG and create another action. Thanks again.

people's eyes goes to the brightest part of an image first. in the case of your image, it would be the comforter at the head of the bed, seen between her arms. not sure if that's where you intended attention to go first. the spot hitting the comforter (between her arms) is also distracting as the next brightest part of the image is the model's face. but it makes it look like--from a single source--the spot-light is hitting the comforter and her face. this doesn't look right cuz it then becomes confusing whether there's two spots or one coming from the upper right. in other words, they conflict with each other.

Jimmy,

Thanks for the feedback. You are right about the light at the head of the bed. Thats the light I was referring to. Shouldn't have been in that spot to begin with. I'm going to try something in PS to eliminate it. Next time I shoot I'll pay more attention..

Well Luis, it looks like you have already gotten the highlights situation under control, otherwise it's a great shot.
