I lurk, don't post often. I mainly shoot conventional portraiture, but occasionally dabble into glamour for models that need portfolio updates. I enjoy it

Here are three of Tecia, a starting model, for your consideration. All feedback appreciated.

Tx,

Ken

I would crop the first pic. I like the second pic. And the third pic you killed her skin tone. You don't see the tan of her true skin tone on the third pic.

I like them but they all seem to lack sharpness in the eyes and it makes her entire face look out of focus. Perhaps it's just my monitor but they all look soft like that. Be that as it may, she is a very lovely lady with a great smile! I bet if you can tweak those eyes with some USM, you could have some killer shots. Thanks for sharing!

Good day sir!

Mike

Hey Ken,

Lovely modela and nice images. I like the mood you have set here..I would have preffered the first shot to be a little brighter and the shot with the tie to be a little more of the mood from the first two shots...also? Is that a wedding ring? That popped out at me and...well...with glamour its quite frankly a little bit of a turn of..(I can say this because I got caught one time with that as well...lol). other than that..nice work.

Thanks, all, for the comments.

re: wedding ring... good point. I'd intended that for the shirt/tie one, but not for the others.

re: skin tone 3rd image

Concur. I shot a few with various light ratios, clearly that one was on the hot side, probably too hot.

Thanks much.

Ken

Ken,

Try adding a little blue to the third pic...that should warm her up a little..try it and see what happens.

I don't think it's a lack of sharpness, per se. But, it appears to be an issue with the focus point and DOF. It looks to me like your locking focus basically in the bullseye of the frame. Since it the sharpest part of each frame. You can address this by either manually selecting a focus point closer to the eyes, if you camera allows you to do that. Or, you can focus on her eyes with the center focus point(s) and re-compose the image. I think that will make a big difference.

Secondly, you might want to stop down a bit for more DOF. But, simply changing the area of the sharpest focus will help a lot. Lovely model.

Well, I have a few comments. The first is "yummy!" And you can tell her that I said that too. Nice work, if you only dabble in glamour, you're doing a heck a lot better than I am. I'd like to see some more of your work in the future.

The backgrounds are a bit confusing to the photos. I like the 2nd one the most because of the more moody lighting. The last one is too blown out as someone else mentioned. Try lighting from the side a bit more like #2.
Keep shooting.
