My attempt here was a very simple headshot. Any feedback would be great.

Thanks.

Perhaps just a tiny bit too simple. A little contrast would make it stand out more.

It is simple and it is soft. Soft is ok, just make sure the eyes are sharp so we don't think it's out of focus. Also, the hand seems out of place. It's a pale white while the face is a great soft skin tone.

Mark,
I know you were trying to make her face look perfect, but it just looks blurred. Go back to the original, fix any facial issues with the healing brush and repost. I'm sure her skin is not that bad. Overall, it lacks pop. Try eliciting a smile/genuine expression from your models by talking to them so the photos are not so static. Talk to them to elicit expression and be ready to shoot when the expression presents itself.

very pretty girl. personally, i think she's posed wrong. her chin is quite prominent and the lower half of her face is very round and full. i think if your camera's POV were higher (above her eye level) and she dropped her head a bit, looking subtlely and slightly upwards, you'd get a better, more pleasing image of her. i'd also like to see her hair untied: pulling it back also accentuates the chin and cheek-roundness. the shot's a little flat (easily fixed in PS with levels or curves) and seems overly softened. you might want to frame tighter as so much white blouse against a white background takes away from her face.

of course, we all know the definition of an opinion... and we all got 'em...

maybe if you had the camera higher, creating a more natural view because she is sitting down. and maybe not white on white, needs more contrast to make it feel more interesting.
