I've been shooting for going on 5 years and reading GG for about that long.

During that time, the board has changed as have some of the "regular" posters.

I haven't posted here myself in ages.

But I still remember seeing my first post from Rich Markese, Ed Konkle, crazy Raymond Kehoe, and Andy McFarland on these boards and I thank them for their inspiration.

Some are still here, some are long gone.

Keep up the good work guys.

I've learned a lot here, and think I am beginning to put it into practice.

Are you okay? You've been posting as recently as a few weeks ago. Nice images by the way.

LOL....

I'm fine....thanks for your concern.

I meant, I haven't posted here "like I used to".

I used to be one of those "daily" poster types.

I've posted a couple things here and there....but not like I used to.

Beautiful shots Mark.

Would you mind sharing your lighting scheme for this? I love the lighting (the model is pretty nice too). It looks to me as though there is a softbox camera left that she has her face turned somewhat toward. Are you using any kind of reflector or something for fill to the right of the camera? It also appears that there is a second smaller catchlight at the bottom of her iris so maybe there is a small round reflector down a little to bounce light back up and fill shadows . There also appears to be a small hotspot on her left shoulder so I am guessing there is a kicker or hairlight back there.

Are you using a black ground with a gelled light for the background here?

Thanks for sharing these gorgeous images.

DMan:
[image] [/image] Here's the lighting gear used.

a 12x18 sofbox as a hair light, and a 22 inch beauty dish for the main.

The beauty dish was to camera left and just a bit off axis (see the small shadow to the side of her nose)

She was posed sitting across from my desk which has a glass top, which provides some fill/bounce.

About 8 feet behind her was a piece of red velvety fabric from the fabric store, but light fall off accounts for the shade.

The hair light was up above the background, directly behind her shooting back my direction.

That's it. Nothing complicated.

The dish provides a more "poppy" light compared to a softbox, but because it is large, provides good wraparound effect.
