Well, the cheek and nose are totally blown out. I can understand that this can be thought of as a "style" choice -- but I can't recommend it. Unless the subject's skin is so bad that you have to blow it out.

What is that -- about 60% desaturated? I'm not a huge fan of the desat thing either -- at least you didn't leave just one feature in color! That "style" is really beginning to bug me too. The final kiss of death was that I saw it on a "Glamourshots" image. If they're doing it, you KNOW it's crap.

Overall, your image isn't AWFUL but I'm not sure that I'd try and sell it to a client. I would either go straight color OR B&W. With the black turtleneck and the black background you should have it pretty easy.

I like the composition, expression, focus, and the lighting.

Not crazy about the sepia'ish tone. B&W would be better, I think. Or, natural color.

Skin is pretty blown out, so you need to work on the exposure. The sepia might actually work ok if the exposure was dead on.

Good image, just needs a little work.

If honesty is what I was looking for honesty is what I got. I have the colored rose thing too.... Is this better?

YES! Dude, the second B&W one rocks! I love it.

The last one almost looked as though her head was floating in space, due to the black top, and dark background. This one is spot on perfect in my opinion.

Casey:

The image is composed and lit well but you lost your tonality when you went in favor of an even higer contrast and blew out the highlights. The b/w image you posted of the same image is spot on target, but since I just love the shadows, I really like the third image you posted.

#3 is numero uno. Anytime I see blown out highlights that start to glow yellow on my screen it bugs me. #3 is one of your best. She needs to work on more facial expression.

JMHO which at current exchange rates is worth slightly more than bad coffee.
