I have looked at this on several different PC's and monitors. I like the fact that it is pretty dark, subtle and draws you in a bit. Just wondering what everyone else thought.

thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,

Well, on my monitor, this appears to be some sand dunes in the Sahara Desert at sundown. It's very difficult for me to tell this is actually a person. My guess is that this is a woman's back, between and below her shoulder blades but if this wasn't a glamour forum, I would probably never have guessed it was a part of someone's anatomy. I'm not saying that it's bad, just how my eye perceives it. I think that if more of her body was showing, or it was just a tad brighter, it might have more impact for me. Others opinions will vary, of course.

Thanks for sharing and have a great week!

Good day!

Mike

Mike,
Thanks for your critique. I do enjoy hearing others opinions.

Jim

"sand dunes in the Sahara Desert at sundown" ... that would be cool as well.

Dark can be good; it's inherent negative space can s you say, bring the eye in, but I'm afraid yours is too dark. If you used 'curves' in P'shop or something similar in another program to lighten the subject a bit while retaining the black background, I think you would have an outstanding photo.

Shows up a very dark on my monitor - initial interest, but too dark to hold it long enough other than to think "It's too dark". Check out Doug Lesters site, he has many superb examples.

I love dark. But I can't really make out the image in this low key picture so I would have to say it's too dark.

Someone else suggested to go to Doug Lesters site which is what I did several years ago and many, many times since.

Actually, I have no problem with it being too dark. I think it it too bumpy and not curvey enough... I don't know... it just doesn't flow well enough for me. The shoulder blade (I think, could be a hip) is too much of a bump out of the curve.

Thanks all. I'll adjust it per Doug's advise and repost.

I do appreciate all other comments.
