Whew! The 21st/22nd of August was the busiest weekend I've had in a long, long time. Three individual multi-hour shoots plus an all-day (and half of the evening) workshop on Sunday. One of those weekends when you thank your lucky stars that you do what you love to do!

Trying to catch up with promised CD's and such.. here are some of a Killeen based model, Elva Marie. She's not on the Other Model Place, as far as I know, but those who might be interested (at least till we can get her up on GG) can find her at the Texas Model Connection #255
Elva Marie's TMC page

As usual, comments / criticism / rave reviews and pans all appreciated!

Talking about a great model. She's got some great expressions on her face. Not to mention the fact that she ain't half bad looking. Great work.

Great work and great model. I'm in Austin and may have to look her up sometime. One thing though, her expression and eyes in the second shot just don't look natural. My opinion.

Some kind of ring light? The catch lights look a little different. I was just wondering if you were using a flouro setup.
Great pictures and a beautiful model!!

One of the members of our photographer's group built a wooden four-fixture 'poor man's flouro' setup with daylight balanced flourescent lamps on a wooden frame. Sucker will last through two earthquakes!

The catch lights show that squared off look.. I think I'm going to experiment with masking off the corners to try and get a little bit more circular look, when I use the light again this weekend.

Isaiah and Austin...

Yeah, she's beautiful, isn't she? Mom is Korean.. Dad is Hispanic. Whadda combination! We worked a lot to get different expressions ... Allen, that second shot.. you wouldn't believe how hard I worked to get that! but, you're right.. it's not natural... but I think it's cute! (Awwwwwwww). I think you'll enjoy working with her, if you do look her up, Allen.

Is the white balance a tad too warm - particularly on the first three????

Bob,

I like it a bit warm.. normally about 7000K is where I shoot for and on my monitor it doesn't look too warm. But, your mileage may vary..

You shoot Nikon don't you? I'll send you a NEF image, if you want, and you can see how the RAW file compares to what you wanna see, if you're interested.

Thanks for the offer -- but I shoot Fuji. Same mount, different format. I wouldn't know what to do with an NEF file!

Love 3 and 4, the expressions are also nice but somehow they don't do it for me. Beautuiful model and great light.

Greetings,
Frank
