Some more experimental shots, hope to have a real glamour session soon.

For what they are, they're pretty good examples.

The first one's good, but I really love that second one. Might have been interesting to get the whole reflection if you had enough room to back up. But even the way it is, the framing and the pose are really strong and they suit the model. The drop of the hair makes it look a little more orderly even though it's completely loose and a little out of control in the first pic.

The third one makes her legs look really thin. Did you PS them? I mean, I can tell she's slender anyway, but something looks just a tetch off. Or I could be imagining things again.

Hi Frank,

Number one is nice! Number two is very, very nice and the reflection definitely would have been really cool had it been of her entirely. Nevertheless, I love the image. The third one I don't like. It's just too plain for my liking I guess. It's not bad but it's very static and unengaging.

Thanks for sharing! Good stuff! I love high key.

Good day!

Mike

What is the material that's underneath her? I've been looking for something with that highly reflective quality about it and haven't had much luck online or in the stores here in maine.

for the question about the reflective surface for high key image, I go to Home Depot and get the shower paneling sheet about 4x8 its white and reflective and stands up pretty well to models standing on it and its cheaper than using plexiglass

I really like #1, by far my favorite. The model's eyes are engaging. Really beautiful. In my opinion with this shot you've had a "real glamour session".
#2 is good, but she looks like she's trying to see something off set and bend way back to do it.
#3 I would like better if she was standing up. I think it would work better with her head and arm positions.
Overall, very good.
I also would like to hear about the tech details. What is the floor made of?

Hi,
The floor is covered in plexiglass parts (2 parts to be exact of 1x2mtrs), you can use any color or material underneat.

The legs are NOT photoshopped, I never try to change a model with PS .

The lighting is very very basic.
One flash 400W on the background 2 fstops over.
One flash 400W with softbox left of the model and one flash 250W with softbox on the right of the model.

At the moment I'm working more with glamour but this is for the moment a rare shooting subject.

Greetings,
Frank

You know, sometimes, the not showing of certin body parts is more attracitive then when they are showing. This is one of those times. There is a beautiful model, high-key lighting, dark lingerie for contrast, and well, I like it.

personally, and maybe especially since it's a high key shot, i would have liked to see more separation between the model and the background. it's kind of flat as it is, i.e., little depth and very two-dimensional. i think one of those light sources might have better served you as a backlight (to "edge" the model), rather than keying and filling from either side of the front using two of your lights. or maybe better yet, a fourth light source as a backlight. just because it's high key doesn't mean it should lack contrast and depth. contrast in a high-key shot is, IMHO, as important as in any other style of shot.
