How does this look to you fine folk? Skin softened, eyes pumped up with Levels, and teeth whitened. Anything glaringly obvious in the retouching? Thanks for any advice.

Okay, maybe it's just my screen, but there is something odd going on on her upper lip (camera left.) It looks like the mother of all JPEG artifacts. If it's a scar, I certainly mean no offense, but as long as you were retouching, I'd have nixed it.

The skin smoothing might be a bit much - she's exhibiting first stage Barbie Doll disease. Again, that might be my screen or overambitious JPEG compression.

Marc...

To me it looks like a strand of hair curling around and across her lip..

Okay, sorry to jump in but I would not worry about that. This image does not work for me at all because I have come back to it five times and everytime all that I see is the green foliage to the left. Your image is so tight that it is 85% flesh and hair and then there is 15% green to the left that grabs my eye everytime. Frankly I would not spend any more time on this image but that is only MHO.

I lost the thread of it. But that's definitely what it is. That being solved, IMO it needs to not be there.

I know I'm probabbly old fashioned in this regard, but when it comes to portait photography, Photoshop is for fixing original cropping errors, and color correction. Otherwise, let the original speak. Overall, it is a nice photo.
