Working on a reflections series. Just trying to get this figured out. Any thoughts or suggestions? Victoria was gracious enough to put up with the testing...

I think I understand what you are tring to do but I am confused by the crop. The reflection is not nearly as powerful unless it includes all of her. Having said that a horizontal crop would result in her being quite small in the frame unless you shot form above and had her angled front to back. A sitting or squatting vertical format could work as well. Finally The image at least as it appears here needs more contrast as the black does not seem as black as it should be to my eye. Good luck.

Lovely, but... what annoys me is the right feet who is amputated (don't worry, all we amputated some time a hand, feet or another part of the body.

Working on reflections is tough to do.

Hi Scott,

I am far from being an expert, but I will supply my one cent worth aside from what has already been said by an actual expert.

I'm not sure I like having the tip of her foot cutoff. Sometimes cutting things off has a reason and adds to the image, but I don't get that from here. Of course space may have been limited and I can understand that.

I might also have liked to see a little more arch in her back. From this angle it appears to be straight rather than arched.

Just my thoughts.

Like the others, the amputated foot detracts from the images, especially since there's a lot of empty space to the right of her head.

Regarding her reflection.. I agree with the others. Not seeing the entire reflection isn't great. She's basically midway in the image, vertically. You could move her up to the one-third mark (remember the rule of thirds in composition), and that would have given you a lot more space for the reflection.

On my monitor, the tones look good, but I would have wished for just a little bit of separation between her and the background... a little bit of edge lighting. Also on the plus side... I dont see any demarcation line where the shiny surface (glass? plexiglass? mylar?) meets the background.. that's good!

All in all, a nice image that could be better.
